"Endless Column" was my contribution to the July 8, 2010 edition of ImprovFriday. It's a realtime structured improvisation for Buchla 200e controlled by a Haken Continuum multi-dimensional keyboard. The output of the 200e was directed to a Boss RE-20 digital delay pedal, which emulates a vintage analog Roland RE-201 Space Echo tape delay, then back into the 200e for final processing with the Buchla's 297 Infinite Phase Shifter. The sound heard is actually the product of a long loop in the RE-20 at the edge of positive feedback, resulting in additional tone generation and artifacting - no new Buchla tones are heard directly.
